Memento
31 August 2011
Description: Leonard Shelby seeks revenge against his wife’s murderer. His task is made all the more difficult by the fact that during the attack he sustained injuries that caused a specific impairment of his central nervous system: post-traumatic amnesia. Suffering from short-term memory loss, he cannot retain any information for more than a few minutes, while remaining fully aware of all events that occurred prior to the attack. For this reason, he must rely on jotting down new information on handy pieces of paper and photos so that, after reading them, he can “remember” them, and also, to some extent, trust certain people he has just met.

"Memento" features a rare editing style; individual scenes are arranged in reverse chronological order, so the viewer, along with the main character, discovers new facts that preceded the initial events in the film. This technique allows us to empathize with Leonard’s thoughts, creating the impression that we, too, have lost our memory at the same moment as he did. Additionally, the main story is interwoven with another, based on the protagonist’s memories. The story of a person with diabetes will prove key to solving the mystery, but will it truly be resolved by the end?

Bardzo dobry i na swój sposób zakręcona historia, godny polecenia, aczkolwiek momentami może się dłużyć z powodu powtarzania pewnych scen.
