It tells the story of a brave female doctor who, after graduating from Harvard, leaves Boston for the small town of Colorado Springs. A total of 148 episodes were produced, in which Dr. Michaela helps the townspeople. The doctor’s first challenge was a flu epidemic. She also dealt with burns, typhus, and a birth in a stable. She even managed to restore her adopted son’s sight (through surgery!?) The series is multi-layered, as in addition to health issues treated using even Native American methods, it addresses the issue of gender equality, the challenges of adolescence, romantic relationships, and the inability of whites and Native Americans to coexist.
