Los Angeles doctors

5 June 2012
Original title: L.A. Doctors Production and year: USA, 1998–1999 Genre: Drama, Medical Cast: Ken Olin, Matt Craven, Rick Roberts, Sheryl Lee, Deirdre O'Connell Medical focus: Primary care Additional information: 1 season, 24 episodes Description: A medical drama centered on a group of successful, dedicated, and renowned doctors in Los Angeles who have left their practices at large corporations, determined to join forces and create their own clinic—one that will not only help heal their own souls but also provide care to the sick and needy residents of Los Angeles. The series follows the story of doctors who want to build something entirely on their own from the ground up. Each of them has a specific role in this endeavor. Dr. Cattan looks for ways to promote the new clinic, Tim Lonner ensures his patients receive the best possible care, and the divorced Evan Newman throws himself into his work to drown out the pain of his failed marriage. Although their careers are put to the test, they believe they will succeed. Their office is located in an “exclusive” space with a rather questionable interior design. Yet this does not dampen their enthusiasm. Despite the fact that their careers are put to the test, they are convinced that their approach to patients will ensure their success. Although the series is short (only one season), it’s truly worth recommending. Personally, I don’t know why it wasn’t renewed, because it had all the hallmarks of a good series, and it’s a shame that its potential went to waste.
