Medical topic: a report on the issue of transplantation
Description:
This book is not a dry compilation of “pros and cons” regarding the immense problem of transplantation in Poland. The authors did not set out to present their own opinions and impose them on the reader. Instead, the book contains moving stories about the lives of people who have undergone transplant procedures, and we also learn about the feelings of their loved ones and doctors. Furthermore, it includes interviews with leading figures in Polish medicine, including Zbigniew Religa, as well as sociologists and a priest specializing in bioethics. I believe this book is worth recommending because it challenges stereotypes and presents the perspectives of patients, doctors, families, and even people not directly involved in the issue of transplantation. This book is certainly moving; it compels reflection and, hopefully, may even lead some to fill out a consent form for the donation of their own organs.
