Year of first publication: 2007
Description:
"Former Hospitals of Wrocław" is a unique, one-of-a-kind monograph presenting the architecture and history of Wrocław’s clinics, ranging from the 16th-century All Saints’ Hospital to the Garrison Hospital (today the Military Hospital on Weigla Street), built in the 1940s. In addition to an extensive description of individual buildings, based on the collections of the Architectural Museum in Wrocław, an exceptionally valuable feature of the album is a collection of numerous postcards from Dr. Hans-Guido Weiser’s collection, depicting the hospitals in question, as well as reproductions of construction and renovation plans for many of them. These features make this publication exceptionally valuable, and it will appeal most to enthusiasts of Wrocław’s history, the history of medicine, and the fields of construction and architecture.
Unfortunately, this album was published in a very limited number of copies and is difficult to find on the market today.
