Alan Glynn - "A dose of genius".

1 January 1900
Title: A Dose of Genius Author: Alan Glynn Publication Year: 2002   Description: Hasn’t each of us ever wanted to feel—even for a moment—like a true genius, unmatched in every way? And what if that dream could come true, in a truly trivial way, by taking an (un)ordinary pill? Eddie Spinola, a writer and copywriter who feels unfulfilled in life, one day runs into his former brother-in-law, Vernon Grant—after sharing a drink, Vernon, posing as a pharmaceutical company representative, hands the helpless and despairing Eddie a gift in the form of a single MDT pill. According to him, MDT is a new drug, not yet on the market, completely free of side effects, designed to activate specific receptors in the brain and thus provide the strength for impulsive, rapid, and brilliant action. Intrigued, Eddie tries the drug and discovers that it’s all true. Or at least to a certain extent. And for a certain time. Because everything comes at a price... The 2011 film *I Am God* was based on this book—in my opinion, the film is good, but the book is even better. I encourage everyone to read it, regardless of whether they’ve seen and liked the movie, and regardless of whether they’re even interested in such films. Especially since the movie was merely inspired by the book, and the book itself is simply top-notch!
