The defendant suddenly suffers a strange attack, and an ambulance arrives to take him away. On the way to the hospital, the man vanishes into thin air. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first such incident. Over the course of a year, there have been about 60 such cases in Poland; all the missing individuals are dangerous criminals. Is it possible that someone is providing them with such services in exchange for money? Sęp—a police officer with a sharp mind—is assigned to the case. Slowly, step by step, he gets to the truth. In the meantime, he meets a beautiful activist from a foundation dedicated to transplants, and sparks begin to fly between them. Will this help him or hinder him in solving the case? The film is worth watching for the cast alone: starring Żebrowski, Olbrychski, Seweryn, Przybylska, Małaszyński, and Fronczewski, with appearances by Baka, Sadowski, Grabowski, Dereszowska, Fraszyńska, and Gąsowski. As befits a thriller, there are plenty of chases, interrogations, and suspicions of police corruption. However, I was definitely disappointed by the ending—it was too full of pathos and exaggeration. As for the medical storyline, it is definitely present and isn’t limited just to the character of the boy in need of a heart transplant. But you’ll have to see for yourself.
