Description: An interesting film adaptation of Robin Cook’s book of the same title. Although the film is not new, it can be said that it is still “relevant.” The
main character—Dr. Susan Wheeler—is a young, ambitious doctor. She works at a large hospital with several operating rooms. At one point, she notices an irregularity that catches her attention. After a routine surgery, a patient falls into a coma. On the surface, the entire procedure went smoothly, with no cause for complaint against the doctors... This isn’t the only case; similar ones soon emerge. One of them involves a close friend of Dr. Susan’s.
The plot unfolds as the young doctor seeks to uncover the truth, refusing to believe it’s a coincidence. She goes to the Institute with which the Hospital collaborates. Slowly, a massive scandal comes to light—the trafficking of human organs.
Perhaps the film isn’t a perfect adaptation of the book, but it’s worth watching and reflecting on. I also recommend reading the book described on our website ->
