A lifetime with crazy people (Shrink)

31 August 2011
Country and year: USA, 2009Genre: Drama Screenplay: Thomas Mofelt Director: Jorias Pate Music: Ken Andrews, Brian Reitzell Cast: Kevin Spacey, Mark Webber, Keke Palmer, Saffron Burrows Medical theme: a psychiatrist addicted to marijuana Description: In the film "Shrink" (unfortunately, the Polish translation of its title is so terrible that it can basically only compete with the translation of the title of the film "Dirty Dancing") Kevin Spacey plays a psychiatrist who, on the one hand, is growing increasingly bored with life, and on the other, is suffering, unable to come to terms with his wife’s death. Interestingly, his patients aren’t random people off the street, but generally Hollywood’s biggest stars, whose problems tend to be repetitive, often exaggerated, and downright boring. In search of a cure for his own troubles, and against the wishes of his loved ones, the psychotherapist turns to marijuana. However, someone soon enters his life who might give it meaning—a teenage patient struggling to recover from her mother’s death. Will his relationship with her help him cope with his own problems? The film’s excellent acting and unique sense of humor deserve special mention. .
