Description: Admittedly, when people in Poland talk about "Dr. G.," they usually have a completely different character and story in mind; however, outside our country, a TV series has gained great popularity—interestingly, one that also combines medical and legal issues, though on a completely different level. In this case, we are dealing with a field foreign to most people, even perceived by many as repulsive—forensic medicine.
The creators of the series, however, decided to debunk the stereotypes and showed the work of a coroner in a completely different light than we usually imagine it, using contrast by casting the likable and attractive Dr. G as the main character. In an instant, a field of medicine that every patient would prefer to have as little to do with as possible takes on a human face and becomes a fascinating, though sometimes blood-curdling, story about doctors searching for the causes of sudden and mysterious deaths.
The central themes of each episode are real medical cases involving people whose deaths occurred at the least expected moment. Dr. G instructively tries to convince us not to remain indifferent to the fact of an unexplained death, but always, from a medical point of view, to ask ourselves: why did this happen? All the more so because it sometimes happens that someone is to blame for this death.
In addition to Dr. Garavaglia’s extensive commentary on the autopsies he performs, a major strength of the series is its 3D animations, which help viewers better understand the pathological processes that led to death.
