Description: This is a series based on Lars von Trier’s work, previously discussed on the PrzypadkiMedyczne.pl website, but set in a completely different, more modern and Hollywood-style atmosphere. Just add Stephen King’s name to the mix, and the picture is complete. Here is one of the introductory texts to the entire story, narrated by the aforementioned master of horror:
Here, life boils down to the use of lasers, ECGs, and MRIs. There is no room for superstition. Rational views have replaced the whispered myths about restless, hungry Dead. But there is such a thing as intellectual arrogance. And that arrogance is blind. Perhaps the foundations of Kingdom Hospital are solid and stable, but the cursed Dead will return.
There’s no denying that the series in question is a horror show. But it’s also an extraordinary production that invites the viewer on a journey through the hospital’s corridors and nooks and crannies. It highlights errors in medical practice and the functioning of a large hospital amidst the supernatural phenomena unfolding all around.
It is also worth noting that the series features two actors with Down syndrome. And they have taken on excellent roles in which they can simply be “themselves.”
